Every holiday season the Calgary Downtown Association proudly transforms historic Stephen Avenue into a winter wonderland for the downtown community of businesses, residents and visitors to enjoy. This year, we are working to engage Calgarian youth, from toddlers to teens, to help see themselves in the heart of the city as part of our #DeckTheAveYYC design contest.
We're calling on Calgarians, 18-years of age or younger at the time of entry, to submit their most festive artwork to us for a chance to be featured. The top 12 submissions will be displayed this December across four larger-than-life-sized baubles in our holiday centrepiece, and the public will be able to vote for their favourite design beginning on Friday, December 4, 2020. The winning finalist will take home a $100 CORE Shopping Centre gift card!
HOW TO ENTER
Applicants are encouraged to submit a high-resolution photo or scan of their artwork on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper before 11:59 P.M. (MST) on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Submit your work HERE.
You can paint, colour, illustrate and let your imagination run wild. Show us your creations, pictures, poetry or abstract 2D drawings! The only artistic direction is to incorporate the colour blue into your design to honour the theme of the Calgary Downtown Association’s holiday campaign inspired by snowflakes. The artists who can complement our seasonal spectacle best will see their submissions come to life and transformed into an element on one of our holiday baubles.
