Cultural Program: Chinese Paper-Cutting

Paper-cutting is one of the most popular Chinese folk art. Its history dates back to the 6 century AD or even earlier. Paper-cutting is commonly used in ritual ceremonies and for decoration. Today, paper-cutting is more used for decorating the walls, doors and windows, posts, mirrors, lamps and lanterns, and for other decorative purposes, it may also be used as a gift to others.

This course uses scissors and papers to create wonderful paper cutting; combining with the art of Chinese calligraphy and painting. The course trains students step by step the skills in paper-cutting, in enhancing the physical fitness of the hands and inspiring the student creativity.

中國剪紙藝術訓練班

剪紙是中國最為流行的民間藝術之一，根據考古其歷史可追朔到公元六世紀，但人們認為它的實際開始時間比這還要早幾百年。剪紙常用於宗教儀式，裝飾和造型藝術等方面。現在，剪紙更多地是用于點綴牆壁、門窗、房柱、鏡子、燈和燈籠等裝飾用途，也可作為禮物贈送他人。
本課程以一張薄紙、一把剪刀，把剪紙與書法、繪畫、粘貼相結合，由淺入深、循序漸進地提高學生的剪紙技能技巧，鍛鍊學員手部小肌肉精細動作的能力，提高手部動作的靈活性與精確性，培養學員做事專心、認真、細緻等良好習慣。同時充分挖掘學員潛能，給學員自由的創作空間，達到提高學員藝術素質的目的。
