Celebrating Canada's 150th Birthday Activities
Activités célébrant le 150e anniversaire de la Confédération
Painting & Calligraphy Exhibition - June 29 to July 2

Explicitly, immigrants play an active role in Canadian communities, not merely in the realm of economic but culture as well. Diversity of language and living pattern has contributed an invisible fence between west and east, new and deep-root in many aspects. Though there has a tendency to bridge over such physical obstacles, effective communication play an important role.

Fine art has a language without barrier. We’ll make the most of an opportunity during the Canada 150 Anniversary event, trying to encourage people from different origin, and stay in their own culture to exchange the paradigm of Chinese traditional artworks.

This exhibition comprising of calligraphy and painting, is aimed to deliver the Chinese way of expression and aesthetics on the uniqueness pictorial field, through the presentation of artifacts, artworks and literature by the four prominent Chinese calligraphers and artists in Calgary (in alphabetic order of their last name):

Kit Tong Abe Au (區傑棠),  Phen Kwok (郭福林),  Jin Sha  (金沙),  Simon  Wong (黃日星)

There will be seminars presented by Kit Tong Abe Au, Phen Kwok and Simon Wong on July 1 and July 2.
